Dawn Farm Education Series - Current Information From Experts!
What is it? The Dawn Farm Education Series is a FREE, annual workshop series developed to provide accurate, helpful, hopeful, practical, current information about chemical dependency and recovery. The Education Series is intended to provide quality education to people in Southeast Michigan; correct the myths, misinformation, and lack of access to reliable information about chemical dependency that function as barriers to recovery; reduce the secrecy, shame and stigma that prevent people with alcohol and other drug addictions and their families from getting help and getting well; and disseminate accurate information as a step towards changing the culture in our community to one supportive of recovery. All programs are free and open to anyone interested. Programs are presented by Dawn Farm staff and other experts, and include a variety of topics on addiction, recovery, family, and related issues.
Who is it for? People with alcohol/other drug addiction, people in recovery from alcohol/other drug addiction, people interested in recovery, family members/friends and others affected by chemical dependency, people who work with chemically dependent individuals, students, anyone interested in any topic for any reason - ALL ARE WELCOME! The Education Series provides information that will help people with alcohol/other drug addiction to achieve, maintain and strengthen their recovery, assist family members and friends to understand and support recovery in people they care about as well as maintain their own health and well-being, and aid professionals and students in various disciplines to work effectively with chemically dependent individuals and people affected by chemical dependency, and to support their recovery processes.
